What better way to kick off summer and all of its golden hour beauty than with a shiny new engagement ring and a sun set session? Not much, for this gal at least. This session was an absolute dream, excluding the Texas heat and pesky mosquitos of course.
I have known and been taking photos of Sarah for 3 years now, and let me tell ya, we’re no strangers to that good ol’ Texas summer heat. Heck, we used to shoot sweaters in it (love you Sabi Boutique, but gosh this was rough). I also happen to know Derek as well, seeing as I took his senior pictures when he graduated from A&M in 2019. Well, that and Sarah and I worked together once, sometimes two or three times a week; I was no stranger to who her boyfriend was. Needless to say, working with these two is a breeze and they’re always willing to go along with my crazy ideas.
When Sarah told me she would be in town and wanted me to take their official engagement pictures I was ecstatic to say the least. Getting to work with friends and capture the images that would be used for their save the dates?! Count me in. Not to mention I would finally be able to shoot at one of the local places that I have been dying to photograph at since moving to the greater San Antonio area.
Let me tell ya, this location definitely did not disappoint. We got there a tad early, so we had plenty of time to take a water break halfway through. When we got back to shooting, the sun set was to DIE for. We wound up taking some of my favorite images ever! They also looked amazing printed onto Sarah and Dereks save-the-dates, if I do say so myself! This session was everything I had hoped for and more and I seriously cannot wait to work with these two again. I am also dying to use this location again in the near future!
I may not be the best writer in the world, but I have some crazy and breathtaking stories to share. Here’s a few of my favorite stories I have had the privilege of photographing.
